Doesn't have to be like the Guru Cup with real-life prizes, can be small scale ATs with just more RPs than standard as the reward (less than mAT). I'd say once every two weeks is good. To go with these tournaments, add some tournament rules. These don't have to be complex either and need not include any updates from ANet, e.g:

All players must use Survivor or Radiant insignia
All teams must run honor balanced (Evis + Dev Ham + PBlock + MoI + Cripshot + WoH + RC + Spirit Channeling)
No Monks
Tyrian skills only

And so on.

What exactly is to prevent retards from just entering with random overpowered builds compared to the restricted participants with the sole purpose of RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing over the rest?

Codex is a real bastardization of Sealed Deck. Sealed Deck tourneys in a GvG setting can be a LOT of fun. Since the code implementations is already there for codex, it seems like it'd be possible to create ATs which restrict skill usage as well.

ANet had to remove them and ban guilds that repeatedly interfered; not exactly elegant.

A good idea. Skill from a single campaign and only one of any given profession can be present in a team sound good.

you do realize that there's a difference between sealed deck and codex? I suggest you to stop posting.

Barely; I seem to remember that some of the earlier rounds were screwed over by it.

I think you missed the point. I'm not saying it worked against smurfs, but it definitely stopped players in bronze / silver / gold from using more than one Dervish. Which is good enough, isn't it?

You put too much faith in Anet.

It's not going to work for a new periodical tournament every 2 weeks. You really think ANet is gonna supply a guy to ban guilds because they don't adhere to the rules of the tournament?

Have you SEEN the bottom of the ladder?

The "bottom " is turning more like in " half the ladder " now to be honest....

Anyway , i'm not disagreeing with the idea in itself , but considering the way anet deals with problems , it will just be totally abused and farmed , thus /notsigned

I was under the impression the banning was carried out by Happy Feet, Lemming and possibly Kvinna, none of which are ANet employees
